An exhibition by two intriguing emergering artists selected by curator Marlaina Buch. Shandy Bearman and Alexandra Demasson contributed individual sculptural installations that explored the accumulation and dispersal of social constraints and expectations.
Shandy Bearman's Tension evoked anxious feelings by confining a wax-filled form within a series of incrementally smaller glass boxes. The sequential size reudction eventually causes the form to "burst", producing a violent reflection on the inevitable result of social containment.
