No "look" dominated this exhibition. Instead, these seventeen artists represented a spectrum of attitudes about the nature of art itself and its methodlogy. This show afforded a modest look at 'post-modernist pluralism' in Santa Barbara.

Of This Time, Of That Place, 1983

Of This Time, Of That Place, 1983
The exhibition highlighted the aesthetic diversity that was present in Santa Barbara, and by extension Southern California. The works ranged from 'fundamental' painting to varied 'new image', intensely personal collage, 'Jungian image' painting and formal works that ranged from the pure to the expressionisitc. Several photographers who worked with either surreal images, deadpan humor or utilized photographic transfer were also included in the exhibition.
The exhibition was co-sponsored by the Contemporary Arts Form, Santa Barbara, California.
