One of China’s foremost poets Xi Chuan (real name Liu Jun) concluded a successful three-month residency as Orion Visiting Lecturer at the University of Victoria’s Department of Writing with a public reading at Open Space. Xi Chuan read English translations of his work, including parts of a recent translation of his long poem Misfortune published in the Fall 2009 issue of the literary journal Grain. Following the reading, Tim Lilburn interview Xi Chuan.
