Regina writer Sandra Birdsell’s Waiting for Joe was nominated for the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award. Bridsell has written novels and short stories including Children of the Day (2005) The Russländer (2001), The Town That Floated Away (1997), and The Two-Headed Calf (1997) and her work has been recognized and awarded by The Canada Council For the Arts, The Manitoba Arts Council, and The Saskatchewan Arts Board.
