What are you complaining about?
Started in Helsinki in 2005, Complaints Choir is an international movement that gives the term Town Crier new meaning and tests of the power of a new kind of populist song.
The Victoria Complaints Choir formed in March, 2010. Through a series of workshops and rehearsals the Victoria community was invited to transform gripes and grievances into collectively created sounds and songs that would be performed in the equivalent of the town square. Cars and Bikes, Homeless and Welcome to Canada are three songs prepared by the Victoria Complaints Choir for performance during the Voice++ Festival.

The Complaints Choir will be accompanied by giant paper lanterns and megaphones specially designed for the project by local artist Jennifer Witvliet.
The Victoria Complaints Choir is led by composer Tina Pearson and accompanied by local musicians. The Choir welcomes anyone who wants to participate – whether or not you can sing.
The Complaints Choir is supported by Arts Based Community Development, a program of the BC Arts Council, by Koto Restaurant and by Complaints Choirs International.
