Curated by Ali Donnelly
April 16– May 22, 2004
Opening: Friday, April 16, 8:00 p.m.
Artist Talk: Saturday, April 17, Noon.

From April 16 to May 22, Open Space will be exhibiting works by three BC artists: Ralph Stanbridge (Victoria), Fae Logie (Vancouver), and Ken Jeanotte (Vancouver). This show is an exploration of landscapes: various human interactions with them and their endless transformations, as they are continuously affected by social values, histories, myths, and elements of modernization and capitalism. From the gaudy golden fire hydrants to a tree stump in an altered state, the images presented by the artists invite their audience to draw out personal experiences of an altered landscape, bringing with them memories, and perhaps fears, in connection with Western society’s definition of ‘progress’.
