Off The Grid: Art [Space] Crawl
we are not alone

May 17 - June 18
Opening: Saturday May 17, 8pm
Artists Talk: Sunday May 18, 2pm
we are not alone is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach to installation that is evocative rather than instructive. Six artists, Emily Goodden, Susan Hawkins, leannej, Wesley Mulvin, my name is scot, and Frances Zorn will create a space to accommodate shifting relationships between diverse works where the non-linear, non-unified nature of experience is acknowledged. Whether as a fragment or a fully-formed story, narrative is inherent in the configuration of sculpture, music, text, and still and moving images the artists will present.
Knock on Woods International Residency and Dwelling for Intervals

Here’s your chance to do an International Artist Residency without suffering jetlag or airport taxes.
Knock on Woods International Residency is a nomadic temporary site that dedicates itself to offering local and international artists a sense of rootedness and respite from a hectic and bewildering globalism. The residency is a para-site that consists of a rustic tent-cabin and a forest of tree-flags that can be situated at almost any host location. Hosts offer backyards, rooftops, neighboring sidewalks, grassy knolls, decks and galleries as wildernesses for residents. Artists are invited to do a residency with Knock on Woods for a minimum of four hours and a maximum of 24. Proposals are being accepted from now until June 7, 2008 for the Mayne Island site. Selected residents will be responsible for their own transportation, food and materials.
