House Dream is David Hoffos' five phase installation. Bachelor's Bluff, its fifth installment, is currently showing at Open Space.
Like some scene out of the dark corners of David Lynch's bizarre yet inviting images, Scenes From The House Dream: Bachelor's Bluff constructs a sequence of anxiety with a calming force. Hoffos' suggests his piece "reads as an elegy to anxiety, stress and depression" in effect it "signals the quintessential modern condition."
Enter Hoffos' self reflexive installation and one becomes enchanted by exposed multi-screen projections which culminate in a three demensional world. This environment is one which calls upon separation, loss and memory as it source and which works to manipulate the seamlessness between viewer and the cinematic image.
