Shapeshifter Hotspot. Now. is an exciting multimedia group show held this summer at Open Space in Victoria. Shapeshifter features sixteen artists from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, presenting contemporary painting, sculpture, video and performance works. Rather than illustrating a specific theme or curatorial agenda, Shapeshifter Hotspot. Now. provides a venue for emerging, established and undiscovered artists who are devoted to "shape-shifting" the raw materials of their own artistic practice, creating large works of aesthetic vitality and visual pleasure.

The opening night gala is Friday, June 17th, 8 pm, with performances being around 9ish; Artists’ talk/curator's tour of the exhibit will be held Saturday, June 18th at 12 Noon. Curators Todd Davis and Roy Green will be available for discussion of the exhibition, and the artists; please contact Open Space to arrange a meeting time.
